Ukraine is ready to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries if Moscow stops attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. He added that any move aimed at easing the conflict must be reciprocal and backed by real guarantees.
Zelenskyy also said he would continue talks with European leaders. According to him, discussions are taking place every day on the delivery of additional air defense systems, including ammunition for combat aircraft.
On Saturday, US President Donald Trump said it was time for Ukraine to have a new president and called on Zelenskyy to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries.
Trump’s statement followed a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the report, the two leaders reached an understanding on Russia’s supply of diesel fuel to the US and global markets.
