Ucom Assesses the Environmental Impact of Its Operations

The company calculated greenhouse gas emissions from its headquarters and drew up a reduction roadmap through 2036.

Ucom Measures the Environmental Impact of Its Operations

Ucom has assessed the greenhouse gas emissions linked to the operations of its headquarters, creating a baseline for future emissions management and reduction efforts. The company said the work was carried out using internationally recognized methodologies, including the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1:2018.

The assessment examined the main sources of emissions generated by Ucom’s headquarters operations. According to the company, this made it possible to identify the areas where further action could have the greatest impact.

Ucom employees were also involved in the process, helping the company build a more complete picture of certain indirect emissions associated with its operations.

“For Ucom, environmental responsibility is an important part of our long-term development. We believe it is important not only to implement individual initiatives, but also to understand the impact of our operations and make more responsible decisions. This assessment is another tool that will help us make this work more consistent and measurable,” said Ralph Yirikian, General Director of Ucom.

Based on the findings, the company has developed a roadmap through 2036. It includes measures to improve energy efficiency, optimize the building’s heating systems, reduce emissions related to the company’s vehicle fleet and employee commuting, and take action in other relevant areas.

Ucom said the roadmap is expected to be reviewed annually to assess results and priorities and, if needed, refine the next steps. At later stages, the company plans to gradually expand the scope of the assessment to include its data centers, network infrastructure, and branches.
