The harvest season has begun in Armenia. Farmers have gathered the results of their year's work but are unsure how and where to sell it. A significant portion of Armenian agricultural products was exported to Russia, due to both geographical location and Armenia's membership in the EAEU. However, for several months now, Russian authorities have imposed restrictions on a number of Armenian goods. As a result, some products are consumed in the domestic market, some spoil due to lack of timely sales, while producers and exporters are attempting to find new markets.
In this edition of "Topic Number 1," we will try to understand the challenges facing Armenian producers, the solutions being proposed, and the realism of establishing a foothold in new markets:
