Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, stated that the creation of an international platform for coordinating the actions of countries under sanctions could help counter illegal restrictive measures:
According to Medvedev, such a platform could unite Russia, Iran, China, and other countries to develop joint approaches:
"We can discuss the idea of creating some kind of agreement or at least a platform where countries subjected to sanctions can formulate common positions," he said:
He recalled that the idea of creating such a union was first voiced at the international legal forum in St. Petersburg:
Medvedev also noted that restrictive measures have been imposed by the US and the European Union against several other countries, and in his view, such sanctions are illegal.
