Pashinyan says TRIPP will transform the regional economy

Speaking at the Armenia-United Kingdom Business Forum in Yerevan, the prime minister pointed to rising investor interest and the planned opening of transport links.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the implementation of TRIPP could become a cornerstone in reshaping the economic environment not only in Armenia but across the wider region. He made the remarks at the first Armenia-United Kingdom Business Forum 2026 in Yerevan while discussing Armenia’s economic development and regional connectivity prospects.

Pashinyan said the forum was a logical continuation of the strategic partnership memorandum signed by Armenia and the United Kingdom in May this year. According to him, such platforms help turn the political will expressed in interstate documents into practical, day-to-day economic cooperation.

The prime minister said business representatives are often better placed to identify new opportunities and prospects because they are not bound by the limits of official responsibilities. He added that he expects the ideas voiced at the forum to move forward and result in concrete agreements.

In Pashinyan’s assessment, Armenia and the broader region are going through a period of transformation linked to the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the developments stemming from it. He said the government is working daily to launch TRIPP on the ground and noted that Armenia is already seeing a certain rise in investor interest.

He also said that, alongside progress on TRIPP, the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border is expected in the near future, followed by the opening of Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey railway links. Pashinyan also referred to plans for a rail connection between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea, the implementation of the North-South road project, and the opening of east-west roads running parallel to the railway.
