Veolia Djur has begun restoration work on a damaged sewer collector in the village of Norapat in the Armavir community. The 800 mm collector is a key part of the local wastewater drainage system.
According to the company, years of use led to wear and corrosion in the reinforced-concrete pipes, while concrete sections also deteriorated. As a result, wastewater began leaking, creating unsanitary conditions in the area.
Veolia Djur said it responded promptly and launched the necessary construction work within a short period. The immediate goal is to restore the normal operation of the system as quickly as possible.
As a longer-term solution, the old reinforced-concrete pipes are being replaced with 800 mm polyethylene pipes. The company says the new pipes are more resistant to corrosion and are designed for long-term use.
