The Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, summarized the work of the Rescue Service in the Tavush region for the first half of 2026 on July 16. The event was attended by Tavush Governor Hayk Galoyan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Director of the Rescue Service Aram Ghazaryan, as well as employees of the Rescue and Environmental Services. Welcoming the attendees, Arpine Sargsyan emphasized that effective interagency cooperation is crucial for managing emergencies, eliminating their consequences, and responding quickly.
Hayk Sagatelyan, head of the Tavush regional rescue service, reported that during the reporting period, 471 calls were registered in the service's subdivisions, of which 134 were of a technogenic nature, and 30 were natural and other cases. The number of fatalities from emergencies has decreased by 50, and the number of injured has decreased by 11.5 percent.
There were 113 fires registered, of which 49 occurred in vegetation and grass-covered areas. Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan emphasized the importance of interagency cooperation, noting that it is necessary to regularly hold such meetings to identify and solve problems.
