The Minister of High Technology Industry of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, visited Align Technology Armenia on July 3. He was accompanied by the company's director, Natalia Suvorova, who presented the activities of the Armenian office, ongoing projects, as well as the team's involvement in the development of Align Technology's global technological solutions.
During the tour, Minister Hayrapetyan became acquainted with the company's working environment, the processes of software development and engineering solutions, innovative projects in the field of digital dentistry, as well as high-tech products being developed with the participation of Armenian specialists.
Within the framework of the visit, the prospects for the development of the high-tech sector in Armenia were discussed, including issues related to increasing Armenia's attractiveness for international technology companies, expanding cooperation between education and the private sector, and the continuous development of the potential of highly qualified specialists.
Minister Hayrapetyan also addressed the strategic priorities of the technology sector, emphasizing the government's goal of positioning Armenia as a Deep-Tech hub and a regional research and development (R&D) center. In this context, the possibilities for implementing the company's R&D programs within the framework of tax incentives, initiatives aimed at talent attraction, current technological trends, and government support programs were discussed.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of expanding the activities of leading international technology companies in Armenia, noting that it not only fosters the creation of high value-added jobs, the development of local specialists' professional potential, and the transfer of new knowledge and international experience, but also contributes to Armenia's positioning as a regional high-tech and research center.
Align Technology is a global leader in medical technologies, operating in the USA and employing around 20,000 people. The company has been operating in Armenia since 2022, developing software, engineering, and digital modeling solutions. It employs about 350 people and is included in Armenia's list of 1000 largest taxpayers. From 2022 to 2025, the company benefited from the Armenian government's state support program for high technologies, receiving financial assistance of 2.6 billion drams.
