The Prosecutor General's Office, in one of the cases of confiscation of illegally obtained property, signed a settlement agreement on June 17, 2026, which was approved by the Anti-Corruption Court's ruling on June 26, 2026. According to the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia, under the signed settlement agreement, 304 million 554 thousand drams will be returned to the Republic of Armenia.
The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit for the confiscation of illegally obtained property against the former head of the Audit Chamber of the Republic of Armenia, Ishkhan Sergeyevich Zakaryan, and related persons on July 29, 2024, in the Anti-Corruption Court.
By the court's decision on August 21, 2024, the lawsuit was accepted for proceedings:
Within the framework of the case, on June 17, 2026, the Prosecutor General's Office signed a settlement agreement with the defendants Ishkhan Zakaryan and related persons, in which the defendant agreed to return the total amount of 304 million 554 thousand drams within 6 months according to the established schedule.
It should be noted that within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated on September 23, 2020, Ishkhan Zakaryan returned a total of 15 plots of land with an area of about 71 hectares to the Republic of Armenia in 2023-2024, including 2 plots in the Hatzavan community of Kotayk province, 11 plots in the Lanjazat community of Ararat province, and 2 plots in the Garni community of Kotayk province.
Additionally, 32 million drams were deposited into the Prosecutor's deposit account as the difference between the auction values and the cadastral values of the land plots.
On June 19, 2026, a petition was submitted to the Anti-Corruption Court to confirm the settlement agreement.
On June 26, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court issued a ruling confirming the settlement agreement signed on June 17, 2026.
