IDBank to create biodiversity garden with Matenadaran

The project marks the bank’s 35th anniversary and will be implemented with Armenian Tree Project.

IDBank has signed a memorandum of cooperation and an agreement with Matenadaran as part of a series of projects marking the bank’s 35th anniversary. The initiative предусматривает the creation of a new biodiversity garden on about 1.2 hectares next to Matenadaran in central Yerevan.

The concept and implementation of the project have been entrusted to the Armenian Tree Project foundation. Under the plan, the garden will serve as an organic extension of Matenadaran’s exhibitions, featuring rare plant species mentioned in Armenian manuscripts and miniatures.

This is the first joint initiative between the two institutions. Before the signing ceremony, guests took part in an ознакомительный tour of Matenadaran, and the launch of the partnership was marked by a symbolic gesture: IDBank’s name was added to the institution’s Honor Arch of benefactors.

The bank, represented by Chairman of the Management Board Mher Abrahamyan, also received the “Benefactor of Matenadaran” medal. Abrahamyan said environmental protection has long been one of the bank’s key social responsibility priorities, adding that business, culture, environmental organizations and the public sector need to combine efforts to build a safer and greener future.

IDBank says a green and sustainable Armenia is one of the cornerstones of its strategy. The bank points to earlier environmental projects, including the renovation of Moskovyan Park and the “Symphonic Forest” initiative, with the biodiversity garden at Matenadaran becoming its latest green project.
