Gevorg Torosyan has been appointed chairman of Armenia’s Civil Aviation Committee. The decision was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The document says the appointment was made pursuant to Part 7 of Article 9 of the Law on Public Service.

From 2018 to 2022, Torosyan worked as a World Bank consultant on regulatory impact assessment and evidence-based policymaking. Between 2021 and 2022, he also served as a consultant to the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), focusing on reforms in the aviation sector.

From 2023 to 2026, Torosyan worked at Washington-based Integra Government Services International as Director of Program Evaluation and Economic Research. He oversaw projects funded by the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and U.S. International Development Finance Corporation across countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

The combined budget of those programs was about $35 million. On September 3, Mihran Khachatryan was dismissed from the position of acting chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee.
