Amid a new escalation of the conflict between the US and Iran, fuel prices in Germany have risen. According to Bild, the average price for a liter of Super is 2.32 euros, for E10 it is 2.27 euros, and for diesel it is 2.3 euros.
Diesel has particularly increased in price, rising by nearly seven cents per liter in just one week. Filling up 50 liters now costs an additional 3.35 euros, bringing the total to around 115 euros for diesel and over 116 euros for Super gasoline.
The main reason for this price increase is the rise in oil prices due to fears of supply disruptions from the Persian Gulf. Following US strikes against Iran, the price of Brent crude oil has surged, and markets are concerned about potential restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of global oil trade passes.
At the same time, the rise in fuel prices in Germany affects not only drivers; it also increases transportation costs, production, and consequently, many everyday goods.
