YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EADB) has identified the services sector, construction, and industry as the main drivers of economic activity growth in Armenia from January to May 2026.
According to the EADB's June macroeconomic review, the economic activity in the country increased by 8% year-on-year over the first five months, following a 6.9% growth from January to April.
"The largest contributions to growth came from the services sector, which grew by 9.1% year-on-year, construction (+24.1%), and industry (+12.2%). Meanwhile, the dynamics of foreign trade were mixed: imports rose by 2.2% year-on-year, while exports decreased by 3.6%," the document states.
The EADB also noted that it expects to maintain high economic activity in Armenia in 2026 due to domestic sources of growth.
Earlier, the EADB raised its forecast for Armenia's economic growth in 2026 from 5.3% to 6%. According to the bank's estimates, growth will be 5.7% in 2027 and 5.3% in 2028.
