The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, stated that the U.S.-Iran interim peace deal grants access to UN inspectors to Iran's nuclear sites:
His comments came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that Iran had agreed to allow nuclear inspections, despite Iran denying any such agreement. "In order to supervise, we need to inspect. There is no other way," Grossi said:
Under the memorandum, both sides agreed to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz toll-free for at least 60 days and to end all hostilities, including in Lebanon, where fighting has persisted between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah:
