The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, Davit Khudatyan, met with the Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Aliabadi.
Welcoming Minister Khudatyan, Abbas Aliabadi emphasized the importance of the continuous development of Armenian-Iranian cooperation, noting that the energy sector is a key direction of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of agenda issues regarding energy cooperation between Armenia and Iran. In particular, they addressed the construction progress of the 400 kV Armenia-Iran third power transmission line, highlighting the strategic significance of the project for strengthening the interconnection of the energy systems of both countries, increasing mutual electricity flows, and expanding regional energy cooperation.
The ministers also discussed opportunities for deepening cooperation in the field of renewable energy, emphasizing the importance of implementing joint projects and promoting new investment initiatives.
The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue active cooperation in all areas of mutual interest for the benefit of the energy security and sustainable development of both countries.
