Armenia's gross international reserves (GIR) reached $5.899 billion by July 2026, marking a 45.7% year-on-year increase, or $1.852 billion. In 2025, this figure rose by only 20.7% or $693.2 million, reaching $4.047 billion:
In June 2026, GIR increased by 0.6% (or $36.3 million), while in June 2025, the growth was 3.9% (or $150.8 million). For the first half of the year, GIR rose by 16% (or $812.6 million), compared to a 9.8% increase (or $362.2 million) in the same period last year.
The annual growth of GIR in June 2026 was driven by a similar increase in external assets by 45.8% to $5.897 billion, while the share of SDR in the IMF decreased by 34% to $1.2 million:
In 2025, GIR increased by 38% or $1.4 billion, totaling $5.086 billion, while in 2024, there was a weak growth of 2.2% or $76.2 million:
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) opened access for Armenia to a Stand-By loan of $25.1 million as part of a new SBA agreement in early June 2026.
