Venezuela’s Oil Exports Fall Even as U.S. Shipments Hit Seven-Year High

Venezuela exported 1.16 million barrels of crude oil daily last month

Venezuela exported 1.16 million barrels of crude oil daily last month, a slight decline from June’s 1.2 million barrels daily. However, exports to the United States increased, averaging 786,000 barrels daily, the highest since early 2019.

U.S. imports from Venezuela have been on a steady climb following the toppling of President Nicolas Maduro in January. Exports to other destinations, such as India and European countries, declined.

Since January, Venezuelan oil exports have generated some $13 billion, but there is little evidence of economic recovery in Venezuela itself.
