Two unexpected revelations in Warren Buffett's CNBC interview

Buffett discusses his ties with the Gates Foundation and investment in Alphabet

Warren Buffett discussed his ties with the Gates Foundation in an interview with CNBC and revealed that he initiated Berkshire Hathaway's $30 billion investment in Google-parent Alphabet.

Buffett noted that his decision to end future contributions to the Gates Foundation was driven by his children now being able to responsibly give away large sums of money.

He also stated that his children want to donate money efficiently, without constructing large buildings or holding conferences in esoteric places.

Buffett mentioned that he did not have that same confidence in his children when he started donations to the Gates Foundation.

Warren Buffett: Ended Gates donations to give more to my children, not because of Epstein ties

Additionally, Buffett spoke about his investment in Alphabet, stating that he is responsible for that investment.

He said that despite Alphabet's large expenditures, it is more likely to be successful than many other companies.
