US President Donald Trump has stated that Republicans should include the issue of Iran in the sanctions bill against Russia. A bill to tighten sanctions against Russia has been introduced in the US Senate, previously promoted by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. After his death, the initiative was presented to the upper chamber of Congress by Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal. The bill proposes sanctions against the highest political and military leadership of Russia, including Vladimir Putin, Russian banks including the Central Bank of Russia, Sberbank, VTB, and Gazprombank, as well as enterprises in the defense, energy, and transportation sectors. The project also proposes to extend restrictions to vessels transporting Russian oil, gas, coal, uranium, and other sanctioned goods, as well as to foreign citizens and companies that supply goods to the Russian military-industrial complex.
