Apple CEO Tim Cook told analysts that he sees "enormous opportunities" in artificial intelligence (AI).
Cook stated that the iPhone maker plans to use AI as a selling point for iCloud subscriptions: "We do believe there will be people that want to use it a lot, and so we will have some kind of upgrade possibilities on iCloud+," he said.
Cook, who will assume the role of executive chairman on September 1, noted that Apple's hybrid approach to AI, where some workloads can be run on iPhones and Macs, is an advantage as his large tech peers rely on their massive clouds.
Apple claims it can do more in AI, potentially saving money for businesses that are spending heavily on AI software.
Cook mentioned that Apple does not have a "complete plan" for charging users but aims to use AI as a selling point for iCloud subscriptions.
