In New York, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a working dinner with representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. According to the Armenian government’s press service, the meeting concluded with the announcement of the establishment of an Armenian-American Business Council.
U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President Kush Choksy thanked the prime minister for the hospitality and said the Chamber’s members represent a broad range of economic sectors. He said the purpose of the meeting was to gain a closer look at Armenia’s economic development, investment opportunities and business climate.
Pashinyan discussed trade and economic ties between Armenia and the United States, saying tangible changes had already followed the documents signed during his meeting with President Trump on August 8 last year. He specifically referred to the creation of two large artificial intelligence production plants in Armenia.
The prime minister said he was confident bilateral relations would continue to deepen and strengthen across multiple areas. He also outlined opportunities across different sectors of Armenia’s economy, as well as reforms and programs being implemented by the government to steadily improve the business environment.
Pashinyan also touched on the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the regional changes stemming from it and the opportunities now emerging. In that context, he presented the TRIPP project, which is aimed at unblocking regional communication routes.
He also answered questions from business representatives during the meeting. The event ended with the announcement that the Armenian-American Business Council had been created.
