On September 23 in New York, Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan spoke at a U.S. government-organized event titled “Prosperity Through Peace: Investing in the Trans-Caspian Trade Route and TRIPP.”
The discussion also brought together Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Brendan Hanrahan, and U.S. Special Envoy for Peace Missions Steve Witkoff.
Participants discussed the peace agenda, regional connectivity and the key achievements recorded since August 8, 2025.
Mirzoyan said the August 8 peace summit, held with decisive U.S. involvement, was historically significant for establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and for unblocking the region.
He also pointed to tangible changes that people on the ground have experienced as a result of peace, and addressed positive developments in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations after peace was established.
The minister stressed the importance of TRIPP for effectively developing links among countries in the region as well as broader interregional connectivity. He also welcomed what he described as tangible progress in advancing the Armenia-U.S. strategic partnership.
The event also examined opportunities for financial investment in the Trans-Caspian Enterprise Fund. Representatives of Georgia, Central Asian states and the private sector took part in the discussions.
On August 8, the U.S., Armenia and Azerbaijan issued a joint statement marking the first anniversary of the Peace Summit held at the White House on August 8, 2025. It said the joint declaration, backed by the U.S., gave Armenia and Azerbaijan a clear roadmap for consolidating peace, achieving prosperity and deepening partnership.
