From August 1, the food safety inspection body will begin large-scale control in the food delivery sector. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
Couriers who have not undergone medical examinations and do not have sanitary books will be held administratively responsible, and the names of organizations that have committed violations will be published.
Earlier this year, considering the growing use of food delivery services and the alarming number of complaints from citizens, the body informed delivery organizations about the start of large-scale control in this area.
If couriers have not undergone preliminary and periodic medical examinations and do not have sanitary medical books, administrative responsibility will also rest with them. Their employer is obliged to ensure that workers who have direct contact with food products undergo medical examinations as required by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.
During a meeting with partner organizations engaged in delivery, they requested a deadline to complete the entire process of medical examination and obtaining sanitary medical books for their couriers (2-3 thousand people). In response to the request, the inspection body established a reasonable deadline. From August 1, 2026, the body will fully exercise its supervisory function regarding couriers.
