YEREVAN, July 31. /ARKA/. Replacing supplies from Armenia will not create difficulties for Russia, said the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov.
Commenting on the statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about seeking alternatives to relations with Russia in economic and political spheres, Reshetnikov noted that the significance of Armenian supplies for the markets of other countries in the Eurasian Economic Union cannot be considered significant.
"In the total trade turnover of Russia with the world, Armenia's share does not exceed 0.9%. For other EAEU countries, this figure is even lower: for Belarus - 0.3%, Kazakhstan - 0.05%, Kyrgyzstan - 0.02%. It will not be difficult for us to replace Armenian supplies," Reshetnikov was quoted by TASS.
According to Armstat, Russia remains Armenia's largest foreign trade partner. The Armenian-Russian trade turnover from January to May 2026 amounted to $2.2 billion, a decrease of 20.5% compared to the same period in 2025. Exports from Armenia to Russia decreased by 3% to $1.03 billion, while imports from Russia decreased by 30.6% to $1.22 billion.
According to the results of 2025, the Armenian-Russian trade turnover amounted to $7.66 billion, a decrease of 38.3%.
