On July 23, 2026, under the supervision of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Kaluga regions, a large batch of fresh-cut roses originating from Armenia was destroyed in the Smolensk region. This measure was taken due to serious violations of the rules for importing quarantine products into Russia.
Earlier, on June 18, 2026, inspectors from the agency, together with Smolensk customs officers, detained 39,200 flowers being transported by a Belarusian citizen.
The vehicle was traveling from the Minsk region to Moscow, and in the accompanying documents, the cargo was declared by the carrier as non-alcoholic tonic drinks. During the inspection of the cargo compartment, flowers were found that lacked phytosanitary and accompanying documents.
On June 12, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor imposed temporary restrictions on the import into Russia of quarantine products originating from and sent from Armenia.
