Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has filed lawsuits against former deputies of the National Assembly Sofia Ovsepyan and Edmond Marukyan. The Prime Minister demands apologies and retractions of statements containing insults and slander. The lawsuits have been submitted on the judicial information website Datalex.am.
The lawsuit states that Sofia Ovsepyan must publicly apologize to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the news site hraparak.am and on her Facebook page within five working days after the court decision comes into force for calling him a "scoundrel" in an article published on June 9, 2026. She must also publicly retract her statements about Nikol Pashinyan, in which she claimed that the Prime Minister knew the election results in advance and falsified them.
Nikol Pashinyan also demands monetary compensation of 2 million drams for non-material damage from insult and 4 million drams for non-material damage caused by slander. As for Edmond Marukyan, he also commented on the elections and called Pashinyan an election falsifier.
