SCS Reveals Cases of Underreporting Sales Revenue and Salaries in Trade

619 million drams of shadow turnover revealed

The State Revenue Committee of Armenia has revealed cases of underreporting sales revenue and salaries in the trade sector. Specifically, it was found that from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2025, a company concealed approximately 619 million drams in sales revenue, while the salaries paid to employees were underreported by around 340 million drams. As a result, the total amount of unpaid tax liabilities reached about 260 million drams.

A report has been submitted to the Economic Crimes and Smuggling Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, where a criminal case has been initiated.

Taxpayers engaged in retail trade are informed that, according to current regulations, the registration of cash received from sales through a cash register is mandatory. Failure to comply with this requirement may indicate the commission of crimes under the Criminal Code of Armenia, so the SRC urges entrepreneurs to acknowledge the legal requirements and refrain from committing violations.
