YEREVAN, July 27. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to take measures to address the restrictions on the export of Armenian goods to the Russian market, the press service of the RA government reports:
During a telephone conversation, the interlocutors exchanged views on issues of the Armenian-Russian agenda, particularly discussing problems that have arisen in the sphere of bilateral economic cooperation:
Pashinyan emphasized that the restrictions on the supply of Armenian products to Russia contradict the legal framework of Armenian-Russian relations, as well as the norms of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). In this regard, he asked the Russian president to take measures to resolve the situation:
The Prime Minister also confirmed Yerevan's readiness to address the emerging issues within the framework of an open, partnership, and friendly dialogue:
Since the end of May, Russia has gradually introduced restrictions on the supply of several types of products from Armenia, explaining this by violations of phytosanitary requirements:
The restrictions have affected floral products, mineral water, and certain types of alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, berries, grapes, potatoes, dried fruits, later — live fish and fish products, and as of July 27 — dairy products:
The restrictions also include a ban on the transit of Armenian-origin products through Russian territory to other EAEU countries.
