Ukrainian drones attack oil refinery in Syzran

One person killed, residential buildings damaged

This night, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked the oil refinery in Syzran, Samara region, Russia, using drones. Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported on the attack on the industrial facility and the damage to residential buildings: one person was killed, and three others, including a child, were injured.

The Syzran refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia and is part of the Rosneft structure.

The Ukrainian drone forces confirmed the attack. "The Syzran oil refinery is one of the largest oil refineries of Rosneft and a key enterprise in the Southern Volga region. Its annual capacity is about 8.5 million tons of oil, which is approximately 3 percent of the total oil refining volume in Russia," the Ukrainian military's statement said.

Previously, the Ukrainian armed forces had attacked this facility several times.

Attacks on oil refineries have caused a fuel crisis in Russia.

Governor Yuri Susarn of Rostov region also reported that Ukrainian drones damaged a tanker entering the Azov-Black Sea channel. He also reported strikes on Taganrog and several areas of the region. Taganrog has been under attack for the third consecutive night.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that during the night, air defense destroyed 349 Ukrainian drones. The number that could not be shot down is not reported.
