This year, the number of university applicants has significantly decreased, which, according to education expert Serob Khachatryan, is due to several factors:
- The rising tuition fees, which have increased significantly in Yerevan;
- The new generation is more practical, with many preferring to work rather than enroll in university;
- The 12-year educational system is exhausting for children, which reduces their desire to attend university.
Khachatryan noted that there have been no significant changes in the number of applicants over the past 2-3 years, but there is a long-term decline.
