Nissan Reports Quarterly Profit for the First Time in Two Years

Nissan Motor has recorded net profit for the first time in two years in the first quarter of the 2025-2026 financial year

The Japanese automaker Nissan Motor has reported net profit for the first time in two years in the first quarter of the 2025-2026 financial year, while also increasing revenue:

From April to June, the company's net profit amounted to 3.76 billion yen (approximately 24 million dollars), compared to a loss of 115.76 billion yen in the same period last year. Operating profit was 77.89 billion yen, while a year ago, an operating loss of 79.12 billion yen was recorded. Quarterly revenue increased by 9.5%, reaching 2.96 trillion yen:

At the same time, Nissan's vehicle sales slightly decreased from 707,000 to 701,000. The company also reported that it saved an additional 60 billion yen as part of the Re:Nissan business recovery program through job and production capacity reductions:

Nissan has maintained its forecasts for the current financial year, expecting revenue of 13 trillion yen, operating profit of 200 billion yen, and net profit of 20 billion yen. At the same time, the company has lowered its vehicle sales forecast from 3.3 million to 3.15 million units, citing increased competition in the Chinese market:
