Today marks the beginning of the first session of the 9th convocation of the National Assembly, or rather it has already begun, and in accordance with Article 158 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, the government presents its resignation to the President of the Republic on the day of the first session of the National Assembly. And I am now ready to sign the resignation of the government in accordance with Article 158 of the Constitution, which is addressed to the President of the Republic. The text is as follows: ‘Dear Mr. President, based on Article 158 of the Constitution, I request that you accept the resignation of the government.’

Today, this letter will be sent to the President of the Republic, and the President, in accordance with the Constitution, will accept the resignation of the government.

I would also like to say that in these circumstances, until a new government is formed, the members of the government continue to fulfill their duties. Furthermore, Article 149 of the Constitution states that the President of the Republic shall immediately appoint a Prime Minister from the candidate proposed by the parliamentary majority after the start of the term of the newly elected National Assembly.
