President Accepts Government Resignation

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan has accepted the government's resignation.

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan has accepted the government's resignation. The text of the decree has been published on the president's official website.

Today marks the start of the first session of the 9th convocation of the National Assembly, and according to the Constitution, the government must submit its resignation to the president.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he had signed the government's resignation and sent it to the president.

Until a new government is formed, the members of the government continue to fulfill their duties.

According to the Constitution, the president must immediately appoint a prime minister from the candidate proposed by the parliamentary majority after the newly elected National Assembly begins its term.
