IMF Highly Appreciates the Forecasting and Analysis System Developed by the Armenian Ministry of Finance

The IMF has evaluated the new system of the Armenian Ministry of Finance

The delegation of the Armenian Ministry of Finance, led by the head of the Macroeconomic Policy Department, Arshaluyse Arutyunyan, held meetings with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). During the visit, the parties summarized three years of work on developing a semi-structural medium-term forecasting model with technical support from the IMF.

Additionally, the Forecasting and Policy Analysis System (FPAS) of the Armenian Ministry of Finance was discussed. IMF representatives highly praised this system, calling it a best practice that could serve as an example for other countries.

As a result of the visit, further cooperation directions were defined, and agreements were reached on the institutionalization and public presentation of the developed model.

It is noteworthy that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has maintained its GDP growth forecast for Armenia for 2026 and 2027, expecting a slowdown in economic growth to 5.3% in 2026 (down from 7.1% in 2025) with a subsequent acceleration to 5.5% in 2027.
