The Price of Silence: How Disappearing Clients Are Destroying the Armenian Market

The Disappearance of Clients and Market Changes

YEREVAN, July 22. /ARKA/. On any market, a deal may not take place. A client has the right to change their mind, cut the budget, choose another contractor, or even abandon the project altogether - this is normal. What is not normal is to take the team's time, attention, ideas, and analytics - and just disappear.

Recently, we have encountered such scenarios multiple times: meetings, task discussions, technical specifications, concept development, solution presentations - and then silence. No response, no solution, no basic feedback.

One recent case is telling. A client requested a detailed project concept from us - with market analysis, solution architecture options, and preliminary budget estimates. Two weeks of correspondence, three calls, a ready document of twelve pages. After the presentation - 'thank you, we will look and get back to you.' We received no answer a week later, nor a month later. No refusal, no pause, no deadline extension - just an erasure of contact, as if the conversation never happened.

Why is this happening

The first reason is a weak business communication skill. For some clients, the final answer is still not a mandatory part of the process; negotiations seem to be left open even if the other side has already invested resources in them.

The second reason is the inability to say uncomfortable things directly. For many, it is easier to disappear than to write a short 'thank you, we are not continuing.' But avoiding awkwardness does not mean making communication softer.

The third reason is the most unpleasant. The market still holds the view that intellectual labor at the input can be obtained almost for free: to gather ideas, check the logic, skim the cream off the ready structure, and disappear.

Broader Effect

When such practices are repeated, they change not only the mood of contractors - they change the market itself. Teams begin to invest more cautiously in preliminary work, set boundaries earlier, and share less depth before formal confirmation.

Our Approach

In our work, we adhere to the principle of maximum trust in partners: we develop comprehensive advertising special projects 'turnkey' without prepayment at the preparation stage. This is a conscious choice that imposes significant risks and resource costs on us.
