The Ministry of Environment of Armenia held a discussion regarding legislative restrictions on the use of plastic products. According to the press service of the ministry, representatives from food service establishments and shopping centers participated in the event. During the meeting, legislative norms that will come into effect on January 1, 2027, were presented, which include restrictions on the circulation of plastic bags and single-use plastic products.
Participants also discussed alternative solutions with minimal environmental impact, as well as questions raised by business entities and practical aspects of implementing the new requirements. Ministry representatives clarified the goals of the legislative changes, the expected results of their implementation, and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the state and the private sector for the effective implementation of the new norms.
