Microsoft has set a world record for market capitalization growth in a single day. Recently, the company's shares on NASDAQ rose by 15.51%, reaching $451.1, resulting in the company's market value increasing to $3.35 trillion.
According to Bloomberg's calculations, the sharp rise in shares added nearly $450 billion to Microsoft's market capitalization. The increase was driven by the company's announcement of a 43% rise in revenue from Azure cloud services, the highest figure since 2022, and confirmation that its capital expenditure plans for 2026 remain unchanged.
The previous record belonged to NVIDIA, whose market value increased by $440 billion in one day following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a 90-day suspension of tariffs.
Bloomberg notes that Microsoft's one-day growth exceeds the total market capitalization of many stock markets worldwide. At the same time, the company's shares had recently recorded their worst monthly performance since the dot-com era in June 2026 amid investor concerns regarding the impact of AI.
