Hayk Konjoryan, candidate for the vice-speaker position in the National Assembly, stated that his wife is the lowest-paid director in the history of Haypost. The opposition questions how his wife receives a salary of $10,000 when the company operates at a loss. Konjoryan claims that Haypost is a fully self-financing entity and that his wife has never received a salary from the state budget.
He noted that his wife, Shushan Aleksanyan, earns over $118,000 a year, but the opposition suspects that she obtained her high position through Konjoryan's influence. Opposition deputies are asking where the company's losses come from if it does not take loans.
Konjoryan also mentioned that the questions regarding his wife's salary are politically motivated.
