According to the Central Bank of Armenia, as of the end of May 2026, Armenian commercial banks provided a total of 8,604,632 million drams in loans to residents, of which 5,833,030 million were in drams and the remaining 2,614,850 million were in foreign currency. Compared to the comparable figure for 2025, this represents a growth of 27.6%.
The distribution by sectors is as follows:
In the industry sector, loans amounting to 707,562 million drams were provided, of which 250,865 million were in drams and the remaining 533,697 million were in foreign currency.
In the agriculture sector, loans amounting to 446,072 million drams were provided, of which 364,625 million were in drams and the remaining 81,447 million were in foreign currency.
In the construction sector, loans amounting to 930,025 million drams were provided, of which 343,690 million were in drams and the remaining 586,335 million were in foreign currency.
In the transport and communications sector, loans amounting to 219,829 million drams were provided, of which 55,284 million were in drams and the remaining 164,545 million were in foreign currency.
In the financial and insurance sector, loans amounting to 829,143 million drams were provided, of which 672,899 million were in drams and the remaining 156,244 million were in foreign currency.
In the trade sector, loans amounting to 763,936 million drams were provided, of which 299,762 million were in drams and the remaining 464,174 million were in foreign currency.
In the service sector, loans amounting to 915,193 million drams were provided, of which 291,670 million were in drams and the remaining 623,523 million were in foreign currency.
Consumer loans amounted to 1,960,805 million drams, of which 1,880,185 million were in drams and the remaining 80,620 million were in foreign currency.
Mortgage loans amounted to 1,755,066 million drams, of which 1,674,049 million were in drams and the remaining 81,017 million were in foreign currency.
