The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, Davit Khudatyan, met with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ms. Farzaneh Sadeghi, during his working visit to Iran.
Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, Kristine Galechyan, who coordinates the road construction sector, and the Executive Director of the "Road Department" foundation, Arkadi Cherchyan.
Minister Khudatyan noted with satisfaction the progress in the construction of the Kajaran–Agarak road section.
According to the minister, Iran is significantly involved in Armenia's infrastructure projects, which indicates the strong economic cooperation and friendly relations formed between the two countries.
During the meeting, in addition to issues related to road construction, questions regarding cooperation in the fields of transportation and aviation were also discussed.
The parties agreed to take necessary steps to increase the volume of freight transportation between the two countries.
The initiative to construct a second bridge on the state border between Armenia and Iran over the Araks River was also discussed. It was noted that its implementation would enhance the transport capacity between the two countries and contribute to the further development of economic cooperation.
