During the government meeting on July 30, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the decision of Moody's rating agency regarding the sovereign rating of the Republic of Armenia, published on July 28, 2026:
“The outlook for Armenia's sovereign rating has been revised from stable to positive, while the long-term sovereign rating has been reaffirmed at 'Ba3'. Moody's attributes the change in the rating outlook to several key factors: a decrease in geopolitical and political risks due to a reduction in the likelihood of large-scale military conflict with Azerbaijan, the process of normalizing relations with Turkey, diversification of external partners, and internal political stability, improved prospects for medium-term economic growth, with an expected growth rate of 5-5.5% in 2026-2027, driven by stable domestic demand, increased investment, continued development of the services sector, and expansion of government expenditures, as well as strengthening the structural potential of the economy due to increased investment, particularly in technology and infrastructure sectors, and prospects for productivity growth,” the Prime Minister read.
