Exports of Armenian fruits and vegetables to the EU are increasing

Tigran Petrosyan reported an increase in exports of Armenian fruits and vegetables to Europe

Exports of Armenian fruits and vegetables to the markets of the European Union are increasing day by day. This was reported by Tigran Petrosyan, the head of the Food Safety Inspection Body, during a press conference on July 17. Currently, he noted, 50 trucks loaded with Armenian apricots are ready for export to a new European market.

“Years ago, we believed that we could not export our products to the EU market because Armenian fruits and vegetables were uncompetitive, and the European market was filled with more exotic and interesting fruits. However, practice has shown that when we really wanted to, we were able to export and sell our products,” emphasized Petrosyan.

It is worth noting that since May, Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed temporary restrictions on the import of all quarantine products from Armenia, including vegetables, fruits, greens, and dried fruits, and has also suspended transit through Russia to the EAEU countries.
