Deep Decline Recorded in Agriculture Sector

The 'LUYS' Foundation presents the economic situation

The 'LUYS' Foundation has analyzed the socio-economic developments of Armenia's economy for January-June 2026.

  • In June 2026, the growth rate of economic activity slowed down to 7.7%: For January-June, the growth was 7.9%, with the main contributors being services, industry, and construction, contributing 3.8, 3.0, and 1.7 percentage points respectively.
  • The agriculture sector recorded a decline of 11.9%: This negatively impacted the growth of economic activity by about 1.1 percentage points.
  • The dynamics of external trade worsened in June: Exports decreased by 20.5%, while imports increased by 8.6%.
  • High revenue growth in the budget sector has been maintained: For January-June, budget revenues increased by 14.7%, while expenditures rose by 7.0%.
  • Inflationary and credit developments require attention: In June, the annual inflation accelerated to 5.1%.
