From July 27, the export of dairy products from Armenia to Russia will be restricted

From July 27, the export of dairy products from Armenia to Russia will be restricted. This was announced on July 24 by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, known as Rosselkhoznadzor.

Rosselkhoznadzor, based on the results of inspections conducted from July 14 to 21, 2026, at dairy processing enterprises in Armenia, requested the Armenian Food Safety Inspectorate to stop issuing veterinary certificates for the supply of products from all dairy producers in Armenia to Russian recipients starting July 27.

Previously, exports of fruits, vegetables, and flowers from Armenia to the Russian market were also restricted.

Armen Gigoyan, the president of the Union of Cheese Makers of Armenia, stated that this situation was not unexpected, as they were aware that such actions were possible. He emphasized that Armenian cheese makers have experience working with other markets, including the USA and Arab countries.

Gigoyan also noted that the number of Armenian cheese makers has decreased recently, which is related to market regulation.
