The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Georgy Papoyan, welcomed the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires David Allen and the head of the economic and commercial section of the U.S. Embassy, Edward Eikler, on July 23. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed that economic cooperation between Armenia and the USA is dynamically developing, noting the positive progress recorded recently. They also discussed issues related to the process of granting Armenia market economy status (MES) by the USA. The Minister expressed confidence that the established effective cooperation would contribute to the consistent advancement of this process and the further development of a mutually interesting economic agenda.
