"If the factory does not reopen, we will block the streets" - Employees of "Yerevan Ararat" protest

Employees demand the restoration of the factory's operations

Employees of the "Yerevan Ararat" factory held a protest demanding the restoration of the factory's operations, which, according to them, has been halted for about a week.

The owner of the factory is Gagik Tsarukyan, the president of the Prosperous Armenia party, who is currently in custody. According to the employees, the factory, along with several other companies owned by him, has been confiscated by law enforcement, resulting in the halt of production.

One participant in the protest noted that the current situation has caused severe social consequences for the employees and their families.

"The factory must be reopened. People have loan obligations and support families. We have not worked for a week, and it is still unclear how long this situation will continue. Our request is to listen to the people's voice and consider their problems," he said.

Another employee also emphasized that many people are facing financial difficulties due to the factory's closure.

"We have loans and other obligations. If this situation continues, we cannot imagine how we will make payments. A solution must be found as soon as possible so that we can return to work," he stated.

The employee also added that he has been working at the factory for eight years and has never faced delays in salary or work issues during that time, thanking the management for providing jobs.
