Yerevan and Tehran Discuss Initiative for Second Bridge over Araks River

The project's implementation will enhance transport capacity

Yerevan and Tehran discussed issues related to the initiative for building a second bridge over the Araks River, reports the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure (TAI):

In Iran, TAI Minister David Khudatyan and Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Ms. Farzaneh Sadegh, noted at the meeting that the project's implementation would enhance transport capacity between the two countries and contribute to further economic cooperation:

They agreed to take necessary steps to increase cargo transportation volumes between the two countries:

Khudatyan positively noted the progress in the construction of the Kajaran–Agarak road segment:

Also attending the meeting were the Deputy Minister of TAI of Armenia Kristine Galecyan, who coordinates the road construction sector, and the Executive Director of the Road Department Foundation Arkadi Cherchanyan:

The day before, Khudatyan met with Iran's Minister of Oil Mohsen Paknejadi. During the meeting, an agreement was reached to create a joint specialized working group that will focus on exploring new directions for energy cooperation and developing joint initiatives:

The Iranian minister proposed a new trade framework aimed at expanding natural gas exports:
