YEREVAN, July 31. /ARKA/. The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia has approved the Prosecutor General's request to transfer the management and custody of the shares of the Yerevan Brandy and Wine Factory, owned by entrepreneur and politician Gagik Tsarukyan, to the state.
According to the Prosecutor General's press service, the decision was made on July 30, 2026, as part of the proceedings for the confiscation of property of presumed illegal origin.
The management and custody of the shares have been transferred to the Republic of Armenia through the Ministry of Economy. The Prosecutor General reminds that on October 9, 2023, a lawsuit was filed against Gagik Tsarukyan and related individuals demanding the confiscation of property deemed to have illegal origins.
Among other things, the prosecution demands the shares of the Yerevan Brandy and Wine Factory owned by Tsarukyan to be transferred to the state.
As part of the same lawsuit, the Prosecutor General is seeking to confiscate 75 real estate properties, the market value of another 10 properties, 42 vehicles, as well as shares in 38 legal entities. The total amount of monetary claims is 105 billion 865 million 865 thousand drams.
Earlier, on July 15, the Anti-Corruption Court approved another request from the Prosecutor General, transferring the management and custody of the shares of Ararat Cement to the state.
Gagik Tsarukyan, the owner of the Multi Group holding and leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, has been in custody since July 7. He is accused of large-scale fraud and money laundering, as well as large-scale tax evasion and illegal hunting.
