The European Council approved on July 30 changes to the Ukraine fund and related programs, which will allocate an additional 8.3 billion euros to Kyiv in 2026:
The changes pertain to additional funding for 2026, provided to Ukraine in the form of support loans, which were agreed upon by the European Parliament and the EU Council.
The Ukrainian plan outlines an ambitious reform roadmap that Ukraine must follow before receiving funds from the foundation.
The European Council also noted that, in line with the European Commission's proposal, the revised Ukrainian plan includes additional steps towards reform, including in the areas of the rule of law and anti-corruption.
The Ukraine fund, which will operate from March 1, 2024, will provide over 50 billion euros in stable funding in the form of grants and loans to support Ukraine's recovery, reconstruction, and modernization from 2024 to 2027.
Since its inception, the fund has already provided 6 billion euros in interim financing.
