Hayk Saharyan, a resident of the Artani community, attempted to export 1.5 tons of apricots to Europe but faced numerous difficulties. He states that the authorities are lying when they say that exporting is easy.
"If you can export to Europe, it will be in very small quantities and after collecting numerous documents, if, of course, it is possible to gather those documents," he said.
Hayk produces about 50 tons of apricots annually, but this year the yield is relatively low. He recounted that he had a preliminary agreement with the exporting company, but they ultimately backed out.
"I had buyers, but when the export to Europe failed, they stopped answering my calls," Hayk said.
He also outlined the documents required for exporting to the EU market, which are much more complex than before, when exporting to Russia did not involve such issues.
Hayk and other farmers plan to organize a protest to present their problems.
